Job Overview:
Skylane Holdings Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Cargo Operations Manager to oversee
cargo operations for Singapore Airlines Cargo and other key accounts. This role requires
efficient coordination with freight forwarders, agents, and ground handling teams to ensure
smooth shipment planning and execution. The ideal candidate should have a strong background
in air cargo operations, airline coordination, and stakeholder management to drive operational
excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cargo Operations & Coordination
• Oversee daily cargo handling operations for Singapore Airlines Cargo and other key airline
accounts, ensuring smooth execution.
• Plan and allocate cargo space efficiently based on flight capacity, demand, and shipment
priority.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, consolidators, and logistics partners to optimize cargo
movement.
• Monitor flight schedules, booking trends, and special cargo requirements (e.g., perishables,
dangerous goods, high-value shipments).
• Work closely with ground handling agents (GHA) to ensure timely cargo acceptance, buildup,
and delivery.
2. Customer & Key Account Management
• Serve as the primary contact for key airline and freight forwarding partners, ensuring efficient
communication and collaboration.
• Build strong relationships with agents, shippers, and other stakeholders to optimize cargo
bookings and revenue potential.
• Address and resolve any customer or agent concerns regarding shipments, delays, or special
handling requirements.
• Conduct regular meetings with agents and key clients to enhance cargo planning and
operational efficiency.
3. Compliance & Quality Control
• Ensure all shipments comply with IATA regulations, airline policies, and customs requirements.
• Supervise cargo documentation, including AWBs, customs clearance, and regulatory
paperwork.
• Maintain high standards of safety, security, and service quality in cargo handling operations.
• Implement SOPs to streamline cargo movement and minimize operational disruptions.
4. Shipment Planning & Problem-Solving
• Analyze cargo trends and forecast demand to optimize capacity utilization across multiple
airline accounts.
• Plan special shipments such as temperature-sensitive, hazardous, and express cargo,
ensuring adherence to handling protocols.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cargo space, ground operations, or flight delays.
• Provide proactive solutions for cargo disruptions, rerouting, or alternative logistics
arrangements when necessary.
5. Reporting & Performance Monitoring
• Prepare reports on cargo tonnage, revenue, and operational performance for internal review
and airline partners.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as load factor, turnaround time, and service
reliability.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance overall cargo efficiency and
profitability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Aviation, or a related field
(preferred) Or relevant experience in the field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in cargo operations, airline handling, or freight logistics.
• Strong knowledge of IATA cargo regulations, Singapore Airlines Cargo procedures, and
general airline cargo operations.
• Experience working with cargo reservation systems, warehouse operations, and ground
handling agents.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and airline cargo systems.
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with Singapore Airlines Cargo and other major airline cargo booking systems.
• Strong understanding of customs clearance procedures and international freight forwarding.
• Leadership experience in managing cargo teams and coordinating multiple airline accounts.
