1. OBJECTIVE OF THE CONSULTANCY
The objective of this consultancy is to identify gaps in current service coverage and availability, and in the knowledge and capacity of government and private service providers in Laamu Atoll. The consultant will benchmark the materials against internationally recognized SRHR best practices and identify gaps to inform SHE advocacy.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
The consultant will:
a. Review SRH training curricula, guidelines, manuals, and educational materials used for medicine, nursing, and midwifery programs in Laamu Atoll.
b. Review policy documents and regulatory frameworks relevant to SRH training and service provision.
c. Identify content gaps related to key SRH themes (e.g., contraception, informed consent, youth-friendly services, gender and rights-based approach).
d. Conduct a mapping exercise of government, private, and CSO service coverage among different populations
e. Creating policy briefs & advocacy materials targeted towards medical boards and education institutions and policymakers
f. Conduct a review meeting, to finalize the materials produced from the activity and submit the final materials and report.
3. KEY DELIVERABLES
a. Inception Report & Work Plan
b. Desk Review Report, (include mapping of available materials and gap analysis)
c. Policy briefs & advocacy materials to SHE
d. Final report and materials incorporating feedback from review meeting
4. QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, gender, social sciences, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in research or academic review
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills
• Experience in SRH or curriculum review is an added advantage
5. INSTITUTIONAL ARRANGEMENTS
The consultant will report to the Program Director of SHE and work in close coordination with the RESPOND Phase II Project Officer Progress meetings will be scheduled fortnightly or as needed, and a monthly progress report will be submitted by the consultant for the duration of work carried out.
8. DURATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT
Total duration: 03 Months from contract signing.
