Job Overview:
- Society for Health Education (SHE) is looking for a Laboratory Technologist to support the diagnosis of Thalassemia and related haemoglobinopathies, DNA analysis program, and Diagnostic Laboratory services. The role includes routine analytical and administrative tasks in the laboratory. Work location is Maldives. Salary range is MRF 11,470.00 – 13,800.00, determined based on qualification and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine laboratory work for thalassemia screening including phlebotomy, complete haemogram, blood picture analysis, and electrophoresis.
- Participate in field trips as required.
- Engage in awareness raising programs as required.
- Provide Genetic counselling to identified carriers and couples at risk.
- Enter data for Thalassemia and update laboratory statistics.
- Ensure all laboratory supplies and equipment are utilized and stored properly.
- Coordinate in-house training.
- Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and prepare reagents in lab.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field (including hematology).
- Phlebotomy Certificate.
- Experience in a relevant field is preferred.
- Registered at Maldives Allied Health Council and licensed to work as a Laboratory Technologist.
- Maldivian citizen required.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Good analytical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and travel occasionally.
